  1. Completed and signed the online intake form and service agreement, and given your Medicare number etc. After you have booked you will receive a link via email to complete this online, so be on the look out for that email.

Credentials

Sha is a registered psychologist with with the Australian Health and Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a fully qualified counsellor, and is a registered Medicare provider.

Sha is skilled in a variety of evidence-based approaches including Narrative Therapy (NT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), trauma therapy, and others.

SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR GINIBI PSYCHOLOGY

From the BOOK AN APPOINTMENT links on this website, you will be directed to the private, ginibi psychology Halaxy booking page where you will be asked for relevant information such as Medicare number etc., and credit card details (for full paying clients and for late cancellation fees for all clients). All gathered information will be kept strictly confidential.

Psychology sessions are of 46 - 50 minutes duration. There are several tiers of billing with ginibi psychology, as outlined below. For all Medicare rebates, a referral to S. Okan or ginibi psychology and a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) are required from your GP. As of 2023, Medicare allows rebate for 10 sessions per year. Referrals can be renewed each year, and unused sessions out of the 10 Medicare available in one year, will be rolled over into the next year for use against the 10 available for that year. If coming from another psychologist or platform, your current referral will need to be updated by your GP to be in the name of S. Okan or ginibi psychology.

  • Full paying client for 1 - 10 sessions per year: $180 per session (eligible for $92.90 Medicare rebate per session). For sessions 11 onwards, you will be asked to pay the full $180. Cancellation without 24 hours notice, or not attending a scheduled appointment, will incur a $95 fee which is not covered by Medicare. Self-referred and fully self paying clients not seeking Medicare rebates do not need a referral or MHCP from a GP. You can book any time you like, for as many sessions as you like in the calendar year.

  • Previous bulk billed clients of Sha Okan and/or ginibi psychology on other platforms: 1 - 10 sessions will be bulk billed to Medicare. For sessions 11 onwards, you will be asked to pay $95 per session, and for these you do not need a new referral from your GP. You can book as many of these as you like, for as many additional sessions as you like, within the calendar year. Cancellation without 24 hours notice, or not attending a scheduled appointment, will incur a $25 fee which is not covered by Medicare.

  • Health Care Card and/or Pension Card holders: 1 - 10 sessions will be bulk billed to Medicare. For sessions 11 onwards, you will be asked to pay $95 per session. Cancellation without 24 hours notice, or not attending a scheduled appointment, will incur a $25 fee which is not covered by Medicare. For sessions 11 onwards, you will be asked to pay $95 per session, and for these you do not need a new referral from your GP. You can book as many of these as you like, for as many additional sessions as you like, within the calendar year.

Psychology/Counselling Experience

Sha has many years of experience working with people across the life span in multicultural contexts from school aged kids (having worked in primary and secondary schools) to the elderly. She has worked in youth mental health (for 12 - 25-year-olds), in aged care settings, and as an online counsellor.

Sha has also worked for NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) with people living with different abilities, including children on the autism spectrum.

Sha has experience working in the LGBTQIPA+ Rainbow Community.

Psychology sessions can be carried out in person, online, or by phone, as possible/preferred by each client.

Medicare and/or private health care fund rebates can be applied.

Psychological and/or neurodivergent testing is also available.
